  `sync` never returns and stays in uninterruptible status. Verified with
  Linux 4.4.0-10-generic and 4.4.3 mainline over hours in (all)
- combinations with 8.23, 8.24 and 8.25 source installations.
+ combinations with system package and 8.23, 8.24 and 8.25 source
+ installations.
