I have to apologize for this if we (IBM) did not provide enough
information here.

There are two reasons:
- We have two daemons in the subpackage that write (stat)istics to the "z/VM (mon_)itor stream"
- Historically: For the other distribution we have one System 5 init script that is called "mon_statd".

So "apt-cach search mon_statd" can find the package, sounds good to me.

I have no (real) problem if you want to keep the name. Packaging is your responsibility.
My intention is to keep some consistency between the distributions.

Yes, this is our plan :-)

Title:
Provide daemon support via systemd for mon_fsstatd, mon_procd,
mon_statd
Status in Ubuntu on IBM z Systems:
Fix Released
Status in s390-tools package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
== Comment: #1 - Heinz-Werner Seeck - 2016-04-12 11:14:09 ==
With s390-tools (1.34.0-0ubuntu3) mon_statd daemons are able to start manually, using binaries for mon_fsstatd and mon_procd.
But there are no services for these binaries available.
In addition also the main service mon_statd is missing also.
Please integrate these services via systemd
