I was expecting the installer to put grub automagically to the drive
where i installed the system (sdb) instead of sda.

Title:
grub2 failing to create grub menu (and possibly corrupting the boot-
  drive)

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Opinion

Bug description:
After a fresh install of the Xenial test-iso along side an 14.04
install on a desktop with dual-screen, no option in grub menu to chose
new installation. Boots straight into 14.04 where Gparted reports
  boot-drive to be corrupted.

Can't use ubuntu-bug, but i can access the new partition from the old
install. Let me know what log files i can provide you with
