You are trying to install in EFI mode to a disk that is not partitioned
for it, and chose to ignore the warning suggesting a bios mode install.

Title:
  force update 14.04 to 16.04 with LiveCD error

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Upgrade by LiveCD form 14.04 to 16.04, Why I need type new user name,
  it's upgrade, so i click cancel.

  but I can't login in my 14.04, (initramfs)

  so I using live cd, force install not format mount `/ to /` and `home
  to home`, then get this error.
