You are trying to install in EFI mode. This requires the disk be
partitioned with GPT and to have an EFI system partition on it, which
you do not have. Choosing the option to erase the whole disk and install
Ubuntu will set this up automatically.

Bug description:
As I searched it was a problem on previous versions of ubuntu too
which is not happening when updates are installed from internet during
the installation. But that didn't work for me on 16.04
