Title:
package gcc-doc not installed failed to install/upgrade: there is no
script in the new version of the package - giving up

Status in gcc-defaults package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The info command invocation from the .prerm script is b0rked and lacks
the "dir" parameter. To fix, it is probably necessary to either add a
.prerm script to the new version that cleans up the 14.04.X mess, or
upgrade the old version so that it can deinstall itself properly on a
  half-upgraded 16.04 system.
