Hello Jim,
Thanks for all of the information.
You're right, I had the problem with the UEFI install. When I was about to
boot from the USB key, I had the choice of a regular USB or USB UEFI. After
reporting these errors I went back and installed with the regular USB
option. It worked and my system was installed without a hitch.
Your emails are very informative and I'll consider reformatting my disk
next time round. Much appreciated! :)
