When looking at libuninameslist, you need to think of these like you
would think of paperback books. Once these libraries are published, they
will not be updated.

Information:
It seems that each year, unicode.org updates the unicode charts with refinements, improvements, and updates, for example, going from Unicode 8 (2015) to Unicode 9 (2016), there are a few thousand updates.

Since these charts are fluid and changing, several functions have also
been added into recent versions of libuninameslist to make it easier to
quickly query information based on which list is loaded. Existing
programs are not really needing these sort of functions at the moment,
but these functions do allow for the potential of loading different
library versions if anyone sees a need for that sort of functionality.

Summary:
Updating any particular version of libuninameslist is highly unlikely, and timewise, you are always better-off loading a more current/recent version unless you need to work with some very old data.

I don't see any switches allowing this bug to be closed, so it will have
to be closed by the original poster, or someone with administrative
privileges for this bug.

Title:
Unicode 5.1 data missing from 20060907 release

Status in libuninameslist package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  In Ubuntu 9.04,

  Using package version 0.0.20060907-2,

Several new codepoints implemented in Unicode 5.1 are missing from
this release. Newer sources and packages are available (including a
convertible RPM) that improve the coverage to Unicode 5.1. Without
this improved coverage, FontForge tends to believe I am creating
glyphs mapped to codepoints that are undefined in the Unicode
  standard.

No functionality breaks; it's only confusing when I expect to see
basic Unicode annotations for a specific new codepoint.

While this may not technically be a bug, I know that
internationalization is an important them with Canonical and Ubuntu,
so I wanted to bring this deficiency to your attention.

Please see http://libuninameslist.sourceforge.net/ for updated sources
  and packages.

(Also, a newer and much better release of FontForge is available. But
since I'm new here, I won't risk incurring the wrath of busy
developers by requesting that particular upgrade in the form of a bug
report. While I can install it from a converted RPM just fine,
building it from source is a painful experience you may wish to
  postpone.)

Edit: I see that the latest release (0.0.20080409-2) is already
scheduled for inclusion in "Karmic". I apologize for not checking that
first. Did I mention I'm new here? :) This bug can be closed, deleted,
  or disregarded, as appropriate.
