You deleted your EFI system partition while partitioning the disk. You
must not do that.

** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
  Failed while trying Install onto 8,1 Apple Macbook Pro

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:

  It is likely a problem with the Partition Type (MSDOS) rather than GPT (for use with EUFI). I am retrying the Install of Ubuntu Studio 16.10, from a LiveUSB drive, and using a hardwired Internet connection, after having wiped the Macbook's Hard Drive and created a new mapping w/ GPT.

  Ultimately I shall try to create a dual boot situation with MacOS and
  Ubuntu Studio.
