Public bug reported:

The gcc supplied in Ubuntu 12.04LTS "precise" (4.6.3-1ubuntu5) has this
upstream bug, which is causing miscompilation for me:

https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=53908

The fix is in upstream 4.6.4 (so 4.6.4-6ubuntu2 from "trusty" is OK),
and was backported to debian's 4.6.3-9.

Can this be fixed in 12.04LTS please?

** Affects: gcc-4.6 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
