Partition table entries are not in disk order
Situation: clean install of 10.04 in partition sda6, which is encrypted.
8.10 was previously installed in partition sda7, encrypted as well.
The install appears to be completely successful.
Windows Vista is in partition sda2.
Attempting to boot Vista result in:
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file."
The problem is fixed with: bootrec /FixMbr
but it reappears at the next install of 10.04.
The problem occurs also if 10.04 is installed in partition sda6 unencrypted.
I installed 10.04 four times and the problem occurs every time.
I tried to install grub on CD and usb memory card, but could not get the name of the device
(also the CD is being used for the installation).
I do not know how to boot Vista at this time.
