Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
lsb_release - no LSB modules available
apt-cache policy pkgname - unable to find pkgname

I am submitting because my computer told me so. Had anonymous "system
problems" for a long time, never put me on the website. Feel free to
erase.

Was installing NVidia drivers via sudo (nvidia-304), cancelled mid-
installation (ctrl-c) because this way usually broke my display, after
finding there were proprietary drivers in "additional drivers" tab in
settings. 2/3 through install errors occurred. Probably conflicting
leftover packages.

Driver cleanup/purge and reinstall should work.
