[Bug 1547302] Re: "Check disc for defects" boot option displays no text some flavors

** Description changed:

- Just testing Ubuntu GNOME Xenial 20160218 amd64 and I found that
- selected the check disc for defects option from the advanced boot menu
- displays no text. I'd guess from the hard drive and optical drive
- activity lights that the test is running but no text is displayed. Once
- the activity lights stop you can hit enter and reboot just as though the
- test had completed and displayed the results prompting to reboot.

+  1. boot an affected image
+  2. select "Check disc for defects" from the GRUB menu
  
- I also tested Ubuntu 20160218 amd64 and it works as expected so I guess
- this is Ubuntu GNOME specific.
