Even Google switches to OpenJDK 8 now for their Android builds
Can't believe that a package that is in "main" is so neglected.

Status in icedtea-web package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Status in icedtea-web package in Debian:
Fix Released
Bug description:
OpenJDK 8 is available in the Utopic repositories, but icedtea-8-plugin does not exist.
I did see that in Debian this 'bug' is known and the new control files etc are already made available in this repository:

Can the icedtea package please be updated and this new package pulled
into the Utopic repositories?
