Title:
Wouldn't complete Ubuntu 15.04 upgrade from 14.04 LTS.
Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
First sign of a problem is when it says:
==================================
Third party sources disabled
Some third party entries in your sources.list were disabled. You can re-enable them after the upgrade with the 'software-properties' tool or your package manager.
[Close]
==================================
Then it reported:
=========================================
Can't install 'ubuntu-desktop'
It was impossible to install a required package. Please report this as a bug using 'ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.
[Close]
=========================================
Then, it said:
=================================================
Error authenticating some packages
It was not possible to authenticate some packages. This may be a transient network problem. You may want to try again later. See below for a list of unauthenticated packages.

I decided to upgrade to 15.04, as the trackpointer stopped working for
me. Via some configuration changes, I was able to get the
trackpointer working. But, now the incessantly irritating trackpad
cannot be turned off, and causes the pointer to jump about the screen
wildly while typing, randomly selecting arbitrary stuff. It is now
essentially unusable!
No solution seems to fix this. And, now I see that I cannot upgrade!
For now, I am using aluminum foil in a feeble attempt to block the
crummy trackpad.
