  The file /usr/share/initramfs-tools/init contains a error of
  processing hwaddr kernel option: the prefix "BOOTIF" is removed from
  the option string "hwaddr=*".

      hwaddr=*)
          BOOTIF=${x#BOOTIF=}                                                                              
          ;;

  It should be

      hwaddr=*)
          BOOTIF=${x#hwaddr=}                                                                              
          ;;

  The patch is attached.
