Mike's patch for IEEE 128-bit floating point support has been added to the branches/ibm/gcc-5-branch as r232747. It's a sizeable patch (about 6K lines).

This is the last patch that we're requesting that Canonical accept for
GCC. Thanks!

Title:
  [Ubuntu 16.04] Enable P9 toolchain

Status in gcc-5 package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
This is a feature request to track the inclusion of POWER9 enabled in
  Ubuntu.

This is required as a building block for POWER9 development in Ubuntu
16.04. The final goal is to have Ubuntu 17.04 as the primary distro to
  (partially?) support POWER9 machines.

Mirroring for Canonical awareness. A backport will be required.
