  Failed to upgrade from Trusty to Xenial when using "sudo update-
  manager -d"

Bug description:
  from terminal:

  sudo update-manager -d

  software updater runs and gives the option to upgrade, when I hit the
  upgrade button it exits and this is the only thing that is on
  terminal:
