So apparently https://wiki.debian.org/AppStream/Guidelines is the place
that documents the packaging. Remaining outstanding questions:

 * What is the license and origin of this icon?
 * The above also says that this needs a meta-info desktop file to work. Is this still outstanding, or does it make sense to add the icon without the meta-info?
