Public bug reported:

To reproduce install the latest 64 bit amd yakkety lubuntu image.
Install with manual partitoning using an ext4 filesystem alongside
several other ubuntu installations.

I expected this to install the grub bootlaoder after finsihing the
installation. Instead it failed to install the grub bootloader. and I
got the problem with ubiquitybecause of this. And I am reporting this
before having to manually install a bootloader.
