Public bug reported:
I have just purchased a pre-installed Ubuntu 14.04 laptop, and
encountered a problem on the initial startup. After setting up the
languages, timezone and usernames, an error message popped up in the
installation process of which it was in the state of "retrieving files".
The error message showed "An error occurred while installing packages:"
and listed a set of prompts after "command", then follows "the following
packages are in a broken state:". After clicking "ok", it attempts to
report the "bug", and failed. Finally, another message popped up saying
that "The problem cannot be reported: This is not an official Ubuntu
package. Please remove any third party package and try again."
I purchased this laptop from a reliable retailer, so I am sure that the
Ubuntu package should be legitimate. I have also heard that this message
often pops up as an error, in cases that the installation crashed due to
hardware or other problems.
I am very new to Ubuntu. I apologise for my lack of professionalism in
my descriptions. Please state any possible matters in the comments.
Thank you.
