(but you are right, in your last picture there is no security update at
all so updates regarding compiz should have appeared on both sides)

Bug description:
  Hi,

  Ubuntu 16.04 here w/ Unity

  I sometimes have some notification about available update for my
  system.

  But icon for update manager never automatically shows in launcher - as
  it used to in previous ubuntu version. (a green background icon with
  an A on)

  After seeing the update notification in 16.04 one has to manually run
  update-manager or synaptic.

  Is this intended behavior ?
