This fairly old bug is not really actionable as stands. If you can
provide an self contained example of something I can try running, I can
look at it, but for now: incomplete.

** Package changed: golang (Ubuntu) => golang-defaults (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: golang-defaults (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete

Title:
golang package not building go-gtk though manual go install builds it

Status in golang-defaults package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
There is seemingly a packaging bug for go 1.3 in various
distributions, MacPorts, Ubuntu, etc., whereby certain packages build
fine when go 1.3 is installed from the source or binary packages at
http://golang.org/dl/ but fail when fail to build when using the
  golang package.

It’s an issue for Pond https://pond.imperialviolet.org/ that
  cyptoparties run into https://github.com/agl/pond/issues/123 which
is why the Ubuntu installation instructions for Pond begin "First,
install Go. The packaged version of Go (usually called golang) is
  unlikely to work.”

  I’ve noticed that mattn’s current go-gtk package examples work : https://github.com/mattn/go-gtk
while the Adam Langely’s go-gtk package examples do not : https://github.com/agl/go-gtk/
So maybe that’s a useful target for git blame or something.

  Best, Jeff
