Well, this can happen if it conflicts on some level. There's nothing we
can do about that in apt.

** Package changed: apt (Ubuntu) => boo (Ubuntu)

Title:
Boo (Python-like language for the CLI) requires seemingly unrelated
software to be uninstalled (~1.5G remove for 3.8M install)

Status in boo package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Using Ubuntu 15.10

Either search for "boo" in the software centre and try to install the
"Python-like language and compiler for the CLI" package or use apt-get
install boo. A popup or message will warn the user that software needs
to be uninstalled, most of which seems completely unrelated.

Some of the packages required to be uninstalled include:

  compiz
  g++, gcc, etc
  firefox
  gedit
  gnome system monitor
  gparted

Plus a huge amount of other packages, totalling 1.5G.

For all these packages to be removed to simply use a compiler and
runtime environment for an obscure scripting languages doesn't seem
  right.
