I'd like to second this bug. It's been a VERY long time since 2.3.1 was
released. It's even been a long time since 2.3.4 was released.

  Please package version 2.3.4 of unixODBC which was released August 2015. It has many fixes since the currently available version 2.3.1, which was released nearly 4 years ago:
  - ASCII-UNICODE conversion updates
  - mutex deadlock fixes 
  - buffer overruns
  - addition of ODBC 3.8 features
