  install ubuntu 16 crashed

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  installing ubuntu 16 from usb created with Rufus in windows. Had
  previously installed Ubuntu on same machine with no issues. At point
  where grub is installed, it said it couldn't and entire install died
  at that stage.
