Is this a dupe of 1143862? In any event, it seems unnecessary to
install a full-weight, highly-configurable MTA like postfix as a
dependency of mutt. Either switch the dependency to a lighter-weight
MTA that functions only to forward mail to a central mailhub for
delivery, or, eliminate the need for an MTA altogether and rely on the
user configuring mutt options correctly for SMTP forwarding.

If a user has a need for postfix on a specific machine for whatever
reason, they can install and configure it themselves.

** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1143862
mutt recommends installing MTA which is no longer needed

Title:
mutt depends on default-mta(provided by postfix)

Status in mutt package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This page shows that http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/mutt depends on default-mta(which is provided by postfix).
  How about a more light-weight mta ?
