[Bug 1682991] [NEW] user name missing from top panel, mouse status also missing

I upgraded ubuntu from 16.10 to 17.04 and have several problems with the top panel.  My name
no longer appears on the top panel even though I checked show my name on the Unity tweak tool 
panel.  The power display no longer shows the mouse status but has (... estimating) all the 
time.  Thank you for help.
