Hi,

the log didn't make it clear why samba-common wasn't configured in your case.
But you could try to re-do and then update all accordingly.


$ dpkg --configure -a

# Update info and install all potentially missing dependencies from aborted installations
$ apt-get update
$ apt-get install -f

If that does not unblock you it would be helpful if you could attach the
output of the following generated after doing what I recommended above:

$ apt-cache policy '*samba*'

** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete
