  I don't have gdebi installed so I am guessing at this bug.

  Please verify whether gdebi can tell whether a .deb has already been
  installed.

  Check whether this is a regression introduced in 0.9.5.7+nmu1ubuntu1
  or 0.9.5.7+nmu1ubuntu2.
