No; there are no additional drivers needed nor installed by update for
nvme.  Lubuntu EFI installs simply seem to be broken in 16.10.

  if it is the problem i think it is.

  it can be solved like this:
  http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/280440/grub-and-lilo-both-fail-to-install-to-nvme-hard-disk-when-installing-debian

  also a root terminal option in the installer to fix the situation
  would be a great help.
