Public bug reported:
Was installing XUbuntu. I chose to install additional drivers. The
installer informed me that secure boot would have to be deactivated for
these to be installed, but the installer would help me do that if I just
created a password that I would be asked about later.
Then after clicking ok, another window told me that the installer had
started in UEFI mode, and I might not be able to boot any existing OSes
after the install, which I didn't mind because I was installing on a
harddrive with no pre-existing partitions, and therefore no existing
OSes, so I chose to continue installing in UEFI mode.
This seemed like a reasonable choice to me, not exactly knowing that
secure boot and UEFI are, let alone telling the two apart. Actually,
even being presented with these rather cryptic messages didn't seem like
a very user friendly experience to me.
