[Bug 1654456] [NEW] package libidn11:amd64 1.32-3ubuntu1.1 failed to install/upgrade: package libidn11:amd64 is already installed and configured

Public bug reported:

The version I'm using is Xenial 16.04 LTS and I'm trying to install
VirtualBox. I've tried to install the software through the terminal and
Software Center but the install halts and sends me error messages. I can
still launch the software but at the terminal I'm prompted:

WARNING: The character device /dev/vboxdrv does not exist.
	 Please install the virtualbox-dkms package and the appropriate
	 headers, most likely linux-headers-generic.

         You will not be able to start VMs until this problem is fixed.


When trying to run KaliLinux on the VirtualBox platform I'm prompted:

Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or
there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please install
virtualbox-dkms package and load the kernel module by executing

'modprobe vboxdrv'

as root. If it is available in your distribution, you should install the
DKMS package first. This package keeps track of Linux kernel changes and
recompiles the vboxdrv kernel module if necessary.

where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908) - The
support driver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.
