@Michael, so how Ubuntu/Debian handle coinstallable different go
packages?

I have to agree with Kai because I presume that more than 99% of people
would only install one version of go. Thus, penalizing 99% of people
because of the other 1% is not a very friendly way of doing things.

For those <1% of people that do need multiple instances of Go, they sure
know how to add Go to their path, and they would definitely  need to do
so. Thus, they need to do the mandatory step *anyway*.

So, it make perfect sense to have golang-1.8-go to put all its
executables into bin.

  New

Bug description:
  I installed the golang-1.8 meta package and noticed there is no go
  binary in the path.

  The file list shows that binaries is put into /usr/lib
