You will need to choose an appropriate drive to install grub to, and if
it is partitioned using GPT and you are booting with BIOS instead of
EFI, you will need to create a 1 mb bios_grub partition on it.

  ... when it isn't sda. Breaks entire VERY LONG installation process
  with a full crash. Have to start over.
