When the error occurred, run the commands as referenced in the bug
from the terminal.

I am not sure what someone told you when you bought your computer has
to do with this bug.

You chose to install samba, presumably because there are windows
machines in your local network. If not, you don't need samba.

Without some idea of what caused samba to fail to start, it's hard to
debug or reproduce the issue.
