Title:
  update-manager crashed with aptdaemon.errors.AptDaemonError in
  _convert_dbus_exception(): org.debian.apt: Could not cancel
  transaction

Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I don't know if this is really a crash in update-manager, or a crash
  provoked by a very strange freeze I'm getting and which I haven't been
  able to diagnose yet. This update-manager crash happened in the
  following sequence: 1) I was using Firefox and it froze, in such a way
  that it wouldn't reopen, it would tell me that it was running. 2) "ps
  -ef" to check if there is any firefox process does not complete, it
  shows me some lines and stops, and I can't kill it with control-c, 3)
  I started update-manager, told it to upgrade, and it hang at
  installing "lvm". 4) I had other applications in my desktop not
  responding. I had to reboot. This is the second time I see this
  general freeze. It is not a complete freeze, just as if some
  applications are running but not responding, I can't describe it
  better.
