To install Ubuntu in efi mode, you have to create an EFI-System-
Partition.

And I recommend to use GPT as partition table instead of MBR/MSDOS.

  try to install the new version of ubuntu but it crashed twice. I ran
  the check on the disk and it said everything was fine.
