  Login issue after upgrade

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When i login it goes to grub then i should select recovery mode for logging in else any other option says failure. Tried memory test, kernel repair via grub. still it persists, i have to login via recovery option in grub only that logs me in. Brightness has not working and updating it says uptodate. This type happened after updating grub and system
