Public bug reported:

Install of 16.04 Mate desktop (MD5Sum verified as correct) install on top of existing openSuSE 42.2 install. Previous install had BTRFS for / partition, XFS for dedicated /home partition. Used the "Something else" partition option and choose to increase the size of SWAP for VMWare, deleted /home and added it back with less space using EXT4, with FORMAT checked; newly freed space was given to SWAP. Changed / partition to EXT4 with FORMAT checked.
Installer crashes with "GRUB-EFI-amd64-signed package failed to install into /target/"
