"The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot."

cannot discern between "bios mode install" (got no suggestion during
installation) and using GPT to set up an EFI system partition.

Bug description:
  ubuntu studio 16.04.2 amd64iso
  "grub efi bootloader signed" or so fails to install.
  fujitsu celsius w420
  installing on logic partition (ext4) additional to preinstalled win7
  no access at all to bios

  starting installation i am informed that uefi install mode may cause
  problems booting another os because it is using "bios compatibility
  mode" or so.
