please do something about the message output that newbies does not
understand.

"locked by another process" that says it all; its enough for experienced
users, but let think the others there is a bug. This is not a bug
indeed, but a lack of user's knowledge.

"Resource temporarily unavailable" might not be scary for the crowd, but
some should possibly prefer something more informative, like "please
close first the other package manager, then you will be able to
continue"
