You tried to install grub to /dev/dm-0, which is an LVM logical volume.
It must be installed to a hard disk, such as /dev/sda.

** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
  The installation just failed.

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
   Nothing special other than the fact that I chose to not include the
  audio packages. Highly doubt that has anything to do with it. The SSD
  is a 250 GB Samsung Evo.
