Your disk is currently partitioned to boot in bios mode, but you booted
the installer in EFI mode. A warning message prompted you that this
could be a problem and recommended performing a bios mode install
instead, but you chose not to. You either need to perform the bios mode
install, or partition the disk using GPT and set up an EFI system
partition to install in EFI mode. This will be done for you if you
choose the "use entire disk" guided install option.

  grub installer crashed on install

  Invalid

Bug description:
  I have lost my efi partition and am trying to dual boot with windows
  10. I have copied my efi partition before deleting due to lack of
  space and trying to reload the bootloader. The graphical partition
  repair tool would not continue unless I made room on the efi
  partition. I also lost ubuntu 17.10 and tried to reinstall it so that
  I can copy the efi files that I had backed up on my usb drive onto
  that partition that I tried to recreate.So, in a nutshell, 1) I have
  backup of efi partition on usb drive. 2) I can not boot into windows
  (obviously!) 3) Trying to reinstall ubunyu 17.10 but installer would
  crash when trying to reinstall grub. HELP!!!
