I just have updated pip as found in a forum:
wget https://pypi.python.org/packages/32/67/572f642e6e42c580d3154964cfbab7d9322c23b0f417c6c01fdd206a2777/pip-10.0.0b2.tar.gz#md5=cbfc1208d00bb72aba19431a7bb4afd5
tar -xzvf pip-10.0.0b2.tar.gz 
cd pip-10.0.0b2/
sudo python3 setup.py install

But I still couldn't install the debian module. Then I did that (I think I did that before):
sudo apt-get --reinstall install python-debian

After a reboot there was no crash anymore.
