Robert: in bug #1784978 you mention that you use an NTFS (and HFS+)
implementation from Paragon Software. Possibly their command line tool
has different options?

Curtis: I don't think GParted can support software that we can't test,
but maybe we can add a version check to see that mkntfs (and other
tools) are the “correct” version (from ntfs-3g, not from Paragon) to
avoid errors?

Title:
gParted uses invalid -Q and -v flags from mkntfs

Status in gparted package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When I use gParted to try and create new ntfs file system it uses the
  command: mkntfs -Q -V -F -L 'Win10' '/dev/sdc4' and get Error in
argument: "-Q". I open terminal window and omit the -Q option and
place the name after the -v option ( -v:Win10 ) and change the -F to
  -f, then it works.
