statd in Ubuntu 14.04 is managed via upstart, not via sysvinit.
Therefore it is controlled via /etc/init/statd.conf, not via a file
under /etc/init.d.

Bug description:
is statd service supported on ubuntu 14.04? if yes i am not able to
see that in /etc/init.d location can somebody guide me how to add the
service to /etc/init.d...
