Not sure what occurred with the information provided. Can you at least
get "systemctl status smbd.service" and "journalctl -xe" and see if
there are any samba related issues called out.

differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I

provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you
believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your
