This is not a bug with the release upgrader rather with some other
package that was upgraded during the upgrade process.

  After upgrading to 17.10 from 16.04, at first there was no cursor.
  After automatic fixing and problem reporting, cursor appeared but only
  right and left buttons of touchpad work. Asus X200MA.
