Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  tried all manual partitions options and default installer options, -
  nothing works tried to install 17.10 earlier, didnt work 16.4 is noted
  to have problems and hence tried to install 16.10 with no success. Its
  a plain vanilla installation with no other OS and still doesnt work
